The Sixth District Court Administration has an immediate opening for a Judicial Specialist 2, to be assigned to Linn County Juvenile Court.
Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00A – 4:30P

Under the direct supervision of court administration, candidates will have the desire to learn the complexities of our court case processing system using our statewide Electronic Document Management System (EDMS). This position involves operating and monitoring a digital recording system, performing clerical support, including drafting Court Orders and scheduling. The person in this position will work primarily in Linn County Juvenile Court and will occasionally involve travel to other counties in the district.

This is a non-merit position with the Iowa Judicial Branch.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
Graduation from an accredited high school (or High School Equivalency) and two (2) years of successful completion of accredited post high school education in business, paralegal, computer, legal assistant or related program. Two (2) years of professional office experience in business, court or legal work or a related area with one (1) year of the experience involving customer service. At the discretion of the appointing authority additional years of experience may be substituted for the required post high school education.
Or, the successful completion of additional years of education (i.e., Bachelor’s Degree) may be substituted for years of experience on the basis that successful completion of thirty (30) semester hours or academic equivalent equals one year of experience. Education cannot be substituted for customer service experience.
